Window light is beautiful.

To get the proper exposure, use the flat disk on your Minolta meter and aim it from where the subject is out the window.  In this case you would get F 8 @ 30th.   Then set your camera to 1 full stop less. (F 8 @ 15th).  This will compensate for the way the film holds highlights not shadows.

9-9.jpg (26381 bytes) This was probably F 8 @ 30th ... which lost it's shadow detail.

It is also helpful in these situations to move a little farther to your right in this case if possible.  Visually then you will include less window and not have such a heavy highlight to deal with.
