Look for the light ... working with a bride or deb to find a spot where the light is perfect ... flattering and nice!

I'm looking ... I have depth in the scene and backlight and a subject, background (tree & plantings and infinity) but the light on her is till sort of flat

Another pose in that spot ... still not getting highlight and shadow on her!   Let's try something else.

A different spot about 5 feet from the last that looks much different.  I like the light on her hair ... and the dress ... we're getting closer ... there is some natural definition starting to show!

Presto ... I moved somewhere else entirely and finally found some light to shape her face!  With a rim light coming around her face and falling on to here shadow side cheek (that I'm photographing into).  This is exposed for the shadow side entirely ... with the fill light turned off!

With subject / background / infinity / back lighting for her hair / and depth applied to her face by the natural lighting provided to my camera's left!  Well worth moving around the yard for 40 minutes to find the spot!
